Lockheed Martin Describes How Its 3D Printing Has Evolved
"Not everything should be additively produced. But military training cockpits should." That's an example described by Robert Ghobrial, a technical fellow and additive manufacturing strategist at aerospace company Lockheed Martin. "In the five years since the Advanced Manufacturing Center was first established at Lockheed Martin’s Training and Logistics plant in Orlando, FL, grown parts insertion on end-use applications has steadily grown," he writes. Ghobrial describes how additive has evolved at Lockheed Martin.

3-Axis Gundrilling Machine with G-Code Programming
The Eldorado KM75-48 is a gundrilling machine with a “knee” fixture table to provide 3-axis CNC capability. Gundrilling diameter range is 0.078 to 0.75 inches. Slide travel in the Z-axis is 48 inches, with table travel of 24 inches in the X-axis and 12 inches in the Y-axis. The machine includes updated Beckhoff controls with G-Code programming, which provides the operator with enhanced flexibility. Eldorado gundrilling machines are designed and manufactured in the USA.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said it was unaware of how sick its late CEO Sergio Marchionne was, Reuters reported. A hospital in Switzerland said it had been treating Marchionne for a year. "Due to medical privacy, the company had no knowledge of the facts relating to Mr. Marchionne's health," a company spokesman told Reuters. Marchionne yielded the CEO post to Mike Manley on July 21. Marchionne died four days later at the age of 66.
