April Cutting Tool Orders Soar in April Compared With a Year Earlier

April U.S. cutting tool consumption totaled $170 million, according to the U.S. Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI) and AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology. That was down slightly from March but was up more than 26 percent from a year earlier. In April 2020, cutting tool orders were hammered by the COVID-19 pandemic. USCTI said a general pattern of recovery seems to be holding.

The Max returned to service after Boeing made software fixes following two fatal crashes.
