Ford Ends Rocky 2018 With a Quarterly Loss
Ford Motor Co. ended a rocky 2018 with a quarterly loss and saw its full-year profit plunge by more than half. The Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker posted a $112 million loss for the final three months of 2018. That compares with a profit of $2.5 billion for the same period in 2017. The company relies on its home North American region for profit while it struggles in other regions. Despite that, the company said it's positioned to do better in 2019.

Jabil Inc. said it’s expanding its 3D printing business by adding a materials operation. The company has formed Jabil Engineered Materials. It includes a Materials Innovation Center in Minnesota. At that facility, Jabil will consult with customers and develop specialized 3D printing materials.The idea is to encourage customers to do more additive manufacturing.

What's more, deal making activity dipped during the second half of the year.
