Engine Valves Use Gundrilling to Improve Heat Dissipation
Engine Valves Use Gundrilling to Improve Heat Dissipation
The DeHoff 218 is a gundrilling machine for manufacturing hollow-stem engine valves. A hole is gundrilled in the engine valve stem, and is then filled with sodium to improve the valve’s heat transfer capabilities. The 218 has four gundrilling spindles and utilizes workpiece counter-rotation to increase the accuracy of the drilled hole. It also features a magazine loader and servo-driven gantry automation system. DeHoff gundrilling machines are designed and manufactured in the USA.
